Madrid still struggling. Better look for ODU, not so much for skins.

Another week has passed in our favorite sports and leagues.
Let us start with La Liga and Real Madrid. One word, for us the fans, Patience. That is what us the fans for Real Madrid will still need to have until they find their game. It was an away game for Los Merengues, at Valencia playing the humble team Levante. Madrid could not find their game that night, missing again so many shots, Higuain is lost somewhere in space, Ronaldo (although this time playing more as a team player) could not save his team. 0-0 the final score, a tie that is bitter sweet (at least we didn't lose). I think it is going to take Real Madrid a little time, and specially someone, one of the big players has to step up. We have to remember that this is pretty much a new era for Madrid, with a lot of new players and a new coach. That is why Patience is the spot on word for us the fans. Hopefully we wont wait as much!.

ODU!!!! I dont know what it is, but on the road we are on fire!. ODU traveled to New Jersey to play the University of Monmouth. Final score was 35-21!. A good victory for the Monarchs, since they can't find themselves at home! 2-2 the record so far, not bad but not too great either, even though we are playing a really tough team and most of the teams are supposed to be better! Good job Monarchs!.

Another of our teams that can't still find themselves is the Red Skins. Tough loss for the Skins, even though they were playing away. The Rams took the W for a game that ended 35-16. Let's see if the Skins can pick themselves up next week!

This week, there is another round of Champions League. Real Madrid will be playing Auxerre at France. Tough team, tough crowd, tough game. We'll see what happens!

Hala Madrid!

Madrid had it tough, Skins an ODU looking for that extra luck.

A lot of Ups and Downs this week.

Let us start with our favorite team, Real Madrid. Busy week for them since they had two different championships to play on. Wednesday Real Madrid opened their Champions League quest with a big victory. Los " Merengues" were playing at home against a young and good team of Ajax FC. Let's just say that Wednesday's game was the BEST game that Madrid has had on their season so far. They played perfectly, well it could have been a lot better since they missed SO many chances. That was the only thing that was not on point that night, their aim. They had 35 clear chance to goal, and only score two goals!. At least everything else was perfect, the passes the midfield, and even the defense or Iker Casillas did not have too much work. Well played for Madrid and three valuable points, beware Milan!!. Now their other obligation was on La Liga on Saturday. Madrid was playing a tough game, they knew that even before the whistle. Madrid played away against a veteran and experienced team, Real Sociedad. It was not the same Madrid of Wednesday. If it wasn't for a jewel goal of Di Maria ( really beautiful goal), and a bit of luck of Cristiano (CR7) Madrid would have lost or tied that game. At the end, 3 away points, really valuable points and back to home!.
On other scores, Barcelona beat one of their toughest opponents Atletico on a really exciting game.

Now to some football, where our teams did not have too much luck! =(. Let's start with ODU, where by the way I was working as usher with the event staff of the stadium. I gotta say it was pretty cool since they put me right behind the team! I could see the whole game, and be right next to the team and see at real close what they go through. For us, it was probably the biggest game of the season. We played the college of William and Mary. They are a really good team, almost ranked in the nation, and of course they were supposed to beat us by a lot!. And that... they Didn't!! We played beautiful the first three quarters! William and Mary were trailing us almost the whole game! Our defense was so awesome, sacking their sad (but good) quarterback 4 times! And De Marco was actually completing his passes!. But at the end they showed why they are a good team. On the fourth quarter we had a play, 2 yards from touchdown that we couldn't complete! That definitely came back to hunt us, because they scored a touchdown 5 minutes to end the game, which pretty much gave them the victory. Really disappointed loss since we HAD that game, we could have won against a really good team. At least we shut their mouths, they were talking so much trash before the game, and it took them almost the whole game to come back and actually beat us, only by 4 points =(. I'm still proud, GO MONARCHS, Hail ODU!
Our other team with not so much luck was the Redskins. Skins were playing the Texans at home. Texas started the season with a really big victory against the Colts. It was a really good and exciting game and the Skins like ODU, were up in the score almost the whole game. The game went to over time, I HATE NFL over time! It is so unfair and not smart! The Texans won the coin toss, and started with the ball. The skins actually managed to stop them and get the ball to a field goal kick range. Skins had the game in their pocket all they had to do is make the field goal ( which was at a range that the kicker never had score). Just as Gano was getting to kick the ball, the Texans coach called a time out, and as Gano's kick was making it through the poles, well it didn't count. Second try for Gano, and of course this time he misses it! =(.. I hate scared, cheating coaches that try to Ice the kickers! oh well, good game after all.

For this week Madrid has a La Liga appointment in the middle of the week and then again in the weekend. Should be a fun week, ODU play's away I believe, and Skins will try to get their 2-1 record.

That's it for now!
Hala Madrid!
Go Monarchs!
Hail Skins!

Week 2 in La Liga! and college football, and NFL season begins!

Hello Everyone! Hope you are doing fine, I know I am. My girlfriend came to visit me from George Mason University. We spent all weekend together, but that didn't stop me from watching my favorite sports!
One more week on La Liga has concluded.
Exciting and surprising week this was for La Liga. Let's start with our archenemies Barcelona and their first loss of the season! Yes, shocker one since they were playing the humble team of Hercules FC. Hercules is a team that bumped up this season from the second division, so that tells you that they are a new, young, and humble team. 0-2 was the result for Hercules. Real Madrid started their game knowing this result from Barcelona, so they knew they had to win no matter what; and that's exactly what they did. 1-0 was the result for "Los Merengues" (Real Madrid). Tough game it was, like I said on the last post. Osasuna is always a tough team to play, as it was proven the whole match. Ricardo Carvalho the goal scorer, odd since he is the central back defender; that shows you how much it took for Madrid to win. 4 points for Madrid while Barcelona has 3. The quest for La Liga is going to be fun to watch, a lot of small and humble teams are playing very well (watch for Atletico!).

NFL has started!! Yes, I am very excited since I did really good on my NFL fantasy team! Eli Manning gave me a lot of points, even though he had 3 interceptions! Also, the Redskins won!! It was a real thriller, since it had to go until the last three seconds to see who was the winner! Good game for the skins, defense was their strongest asset.  The best thing was that... well they beat their archenemies, the Dallas Cowboys!
ODU football team also had a awesome weekend! They beat Campbell College, on the road. While the score implies that ODU had it easy game, it wasn't so since there is no easy game in football.
Well, all I can say is that this weekend was awesome!. I got to see my girl, and all of my teams won this weekend! I can't ask for more.
This week The Champions League starts. This is the most prestigious championship for soccer clubs in Europe. Real Madrid is the team that has won the most of these cups, but they won their last one on 2002; so, it has been a while. Real Madrid will be playing Ajax FC on the start for the 10th champions league quest! We'll hope for the best!
'Till next post!

First post, Season starts!

Well hello everyone, this is my first ever blog I create.
I am actually a little excited about this, I used to think that blogging was a little bit useless, but now I think I see why people like it or use it a lot.
I am not sure what exactly my blog is going to be about. However, my two favorites things are Soccer and Music, so I guess that is what I am going to be talking about the most. I will probably talk about some other sports I enjoy like football, and also some ODU sports events or any events at all.
Well, first I think I have to say that my favorite Soccer team is Real Madrid. Real Madrid is a Spanish team that plays in the first division of Spain, or what people frequently call " La Liga". La Liga started last week, with a tie for Real Madrid, and with a victory for our archenemies FC Barcelona. Next week Real Madrid plays Osasuna. That will be a tough game since Osasuna is a tough team, at least we are playing at home, that should help us a little.
ODU football started last weekend as well. This time though, my team did not do so good. We played a good team, Jacksonville University, and well lets just say that it was not our night. Even though it was a close game, our quarterback was not having his best night. Oh well, 0-1 to start the season. I guess it is a good loss since from this the players and the team can hopefully learn. Jacksonville can say that they had their revenge (we beat them last year on their turf!).
Well I guess that is it for this post. Next week we have good games coming up. oh! and also NFL starts next week! So, that should be awesome!
'Till next post!.
