Madrid had it tough, Skins an ODU looking for that extra luck.

A lot of Ups and Downs this week.

Let us start with our favorite team, Real Madrid. Busy week for them since they had two different championships to play on. Wednesday Real Madrid opened their Champions League quest with a big victory. Los " Merengues" were playing at home against a young and good team of Ajax FC. Let's just say that Wednesday's game was the BEST game that Madrid has had on their season so far. They played perfectly, well it could have been a lot better since they missed SO many chances. That was the only thing that was not on point that night, their aim. They had 35 clear chance to goal, and only score two goals!. At least everything else was perfect, the passes the midfield, and even the defense or Iker Casillas did not have too much work. Well played for Madrid and three valuable points, beware Milan!!. Now their other obligation was on La Liga on Saturday. Madrid was playing a tough game, they knew that even before the whistle. Madrid played away against a veteran and experienced team, Real Sociedad. It was not the same Madrid of Wednesday. If it wasn't for a jewel goal of Di Maria ( really beautiful goal), and a bit of luck of Cristiano (CR7) Madrid would have lost or tied that game. At the end, 3 away points, really valuable points and back to home!.
On other scores, Barcelona beat one of their toughest opponents Atletico on a really exciting game.

Now to some football, where our teams did not have too much luck! =(. Let's start with ODU, where by the way I was working as usher with the event staff of the stadium. I gotta say it was pretty cool since they put me right behind the team! I could see the whole game, and be right next to the team and see at real close what they go through. For us, it was probably the biggest game of the season. We played the college of William and Mary. They are a really good team, almost ranked in the nation, and of course they were supposed to beat us by a lot!. And that... they Didn't!! We played beautiful the first three quarters! William and Mary were trailing us almost the whole game! Our defense was so awesome, sacking their sad (but good) quarterback 4 times! And De Marco was actually completing his passes!. But at the end they showed why they are a good team. On the fourth quarter we had a play, 2 yards from touchdown that we couldn't complete! That definitely came back to hunt us, because they scored a touchdown 5 minutes to end the game, which pretty much gave them the victory. Really disappointed loss since we HAD that game, we could have won against a really good team. At least we shut their mouths, they were talking so much trash before the game, and it took them almost the whole game to come back and actually beat us, only by 4 points =(. I'm still proud, GO MONARCHS, Hail ODU!
Our other team with not so much luck was the Redskins. Skins were playing the Texans at home. Texas started the season with a really big victory against the Colts. It was a really good and exciting game and the Skins like ODU, were up in the score almost the whole game. The game went to over time, I HATE NFL over time! It is so unfair and not smart! The Texans won the coin toss, and started with the ball. The skins actually managed to stop them and get the ball to a field goal kick range. Skins had the game in their pocket all they had to do is make the field goal ( which was at a range that the kicker never had score). Just as Gano was getting to kick the ball, the Texans coach called a time out, and as Gano's kick was making it through the poles, well it didn't count. Second try for Gano, and of course this time he misses it! =(.. I hate scared, cheating coaches that try to Ice the kickers! oh well, good game after all.

For this week Madrid has a La Liga appointment in the middle of the week and then again in the weekend. Should be a fun week, ODU play's away I believe, and Skins will try to get their 2-1 record.

That's it for now!
Hala Madrid!
Go Monarchs!
Hail Skins!
